Request for translation administrator
[edit]I’d like to be able to mark pages for translation after editing them, such as Help:Gadget-ACDC. I’m not the biggest translation expert, but I think I’ve worked enough with the translate extension, including both editing translatable pages (example edit) and also translation admin’ing some pages on WMDE’s internal wiki, to know my way around it :) Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 19:50, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Can you please provide a more recent example instead? Much has changed since 2020. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 13:20, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- How about 2022? (I’ve made a fair amount of other edits on Commons, so I’m not sure how to find other edits with translation syntax that I’ve done unless I happen to remember one later.) Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 20:00, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- good for me. All the best! ─ Aafī on Mobile (talk) 20:16, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- Seems fine. Though I have a question on why the text is left like this. Please revert if there's a valid rationale for it to be left as chunks instead of a continuous sentence. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 13:23, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- They’re supposed to be semantic line breaks. I find that they make the source text easier to write and edit, as I can move around the text in two dimensions instead of it just being one very long line. Apparently the translation interface shows line breaks literally, which is unfortunate, so I’m not going to revert your edit; that said, please don’t do it in other pages I’ve written (unless they’re also translatable). Let me write my wikitext how I like it and vice versa :) Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 21:21, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- (Apparently there’s also a Wikipedia essay about this, which may or may not be more useful than that link I pulled out of
GoogleDuckDuckGo.) Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 21:24, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
